Whats the differences between a CDMA and GSM cell phone?
Well because there is no standard for cell phone technology,CDMA and GSM respesents differant digital cell technology.
Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). All cell phone providers use one or the
other technologies, all of which provide a much better sound quality than analog phones but there are also differences
between these systems. In the USA it is:
* T-Mobile uses: GSM
* AT&T Wireless uses: GSM
* Verizon Wireless uses: CDMA
* Sprint PCS uses: CDMA
GSM is high speed wireless data technology,but CDMA has been traditionally faster than GSM.A Sims card is required for a GSM
type phone and a R-UIM card, for CDMA(mostly ASIA).The GSM is better for international roaming. GSM user are apx 1billion
while CDMA is just about 270 million cell phone users.
